Quality Control
ELINOIL’s main vision is to be a reference point for the top quality of its products. In this direction, our company applies measures and methods which aim to assure consumers of the quality of our fuels and protect them in a market which is still, unfortunately, plagued by fraudulent phenomena.
According to research conducted by the Fuels and Lubricants Technology Laboratory (FLTL), which is part of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), amid service stations of all companies in Attica, the percentage of irregular (non-compliant with specifications) samples is around 5.2% for petrol and 10.3% for automotive diesel with obvious adverse effects on the longevity of vehicle engines, environmental quality and public revenues. At the same time, the comparative percentages of irregular samples from the elin network throughout Greece are significantly lower than the respective market percentages and are virtually zero.
In 1998, ELINOIL initiated its collaboration with the FLTL to apply an innovative fuel quality control program throughout the elin network of service stations. Within the framework of the program, FLTL representatives visit company stations announced, throughout the year, in order to collect fuel samples for further analysis. If these checks reveal adulterates products at a specific station, the company terminates its partnership with that agent. The results obtained to date are not only impressive but prove elin’s commitment to ensuring the quality of its fuels.
Alongside the NTUA program, ELINOIL conducts its own checks to the entire supply chain in collaboration with the Technological Educational Institute of Kavala and other accredited laboratories so as to have a comprehensive idea of the quality of the fuels traded by its network.
